SNBA Sunday School Conference
The conference will be Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Jasper.  It will start at 8:30 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m.  Lunch will be provided.  The keynote speaker is David Francis the director of Sunday School at LifeWay Christian Resources

Benevolence Committee
The Summer back pack program is going great. The Southeast Texas Food Bank provides the food.  Thanks for all the peanut butter you have given; the cupboard is now full and we do not need any more at this time.  The committee also would like to thank you for the books.  We are still asking for new or used children’s books to give to each child as they make their deliveries.  The Benevolence Committee is also in need of a futon or day bed and a high chair.

If you know of a church member that is in the hospital, please let the church office know.  Because of changes at hospitals, it is harder for us to find out the names of our members.  Thanks for your help in ministering to others.

Sabine Neches Baptist Area Men’s Retreat

August 6-7, 2010

East Texas Baptist Encampment at Newton, Texas

The theme is:

“Imitate Christ: Don’t Be an Imitation But a Genuine Imitator”

Herman Cramer will be the guest speaker, and Ernie Overstreet will lead the worship and music.  Robert Burkhart will provide musical comedy that will fit the theme.  Testimonies will be given by Jared Hollier, Ross Shelton, and Paul Boughan.  Each participant needs to fill out an individual registration form, which can be obtained in the church office.  Pre-registration must be returned by July 29th.  If you plan to attend both days and spend the night the cost will range from $50.00 to $77.00 for on-site housing.  The cost is $28.00 for those planning to attend Saturday only, when Ross is speaking.   Contact the church office for more information.
